This is a Men’s Foursomes (Alternate Shots) Knockout using a Matchplay format off White Tees. Each team comprises 2 players. Partners are chosen by the players. Once you have your partner lined up, please enter the competition online. Maximum Handicap Index = 22.9.
The Entry Fee is £8 per Pair. This includes a £4 sweep. If for any reason you do not wish to enter the sweep, please request a £4 refund from the Office. Please pay the £8 Fee online using a debit/credit card at the same time as you enter the competition.
Only players who have at least 5 qualifying scores (Qualifying Competitions or General Play) in their WHS Handicap Record in the previous 12 Months are permitted to enter this competition.
Any Loops can be used as agreed between players, and will play off white tees. Each player uses their Handicap Index to find their Course Handicap. These are added together to find the Combined Course Handicap for your Pair. You then calculate 50% of that number and round up to the nearest whole number if necessary. Each pair makes this calculation and the difference between each pair determines the strokes to be given and received. Eg. if one pair receives 12 shots and another receives 5, the higher pair will receive 7 strokes
Each pair decides which player will tee-off on the odd number holes and who will tee-off on the even number holes. If the match is all-square after 18 holes, a sudden death play-off is commenced back on the 1st hole with strokes being given as previously.
Players are encouraged to treat deadlines with respect and to reach out to one another as soon as they are aware of their opponent. However, the first player named in the draw should provide their opponent(s) with 3 reasonable dates.
After each match, please record the outcome on IG. ln any circumstances where a tie has been difficult to arrange, the Committee will review the chat on IG to form a decision if needed. We therefore ask all participants to do their best to arrange to play the tie at the earliest possible opportunity. After each match, please record the outcome on IG.
The Committee’s decision in all matters relating to the competition shall be final.
Please only enter the competition if you are happy to abide by the Terms of Competition published above.
