I am delighted to report that a team from KNGC won the Centenary Salver at Moseley GC on Sunday 8 th October. The competition is played every year between the 1892 clubs in our region ( Moseley, Stourbridge, South Staffs and KNGC) and we last won the event in 2013 so we were due a victory!
The KNGC team representing our Club comprised:
Four of our juniors; Tom Newton, Harvey Jones, Alex Hughes and James Yorke,
Four ladies; Sue Yau, Karen Simpson, Chris Henderson and Lady Captain Margaret Stiles,
Four gentlemen; Olly Birchill, Matt Albrow, Darren Bright and Mike Pavely
And four ‘young’ seniors Rob Buckey, Rob Goodyer, Steve Day and myself.
My thanks go to all members of the Kings Norton team for performing so well and for making the day so enjoyable, and to Moseley Golf Club for hosting this years event and presenting their course in such great condition.
In 2018 the event will be held at Kings Norton and the challenge will be to defend the trophy.
I was very honoured to collect the trophy on behalf of KNGC, and am pictured here alongside Moseley Captain Dave Mcillvray and the captain of South Staffs GC Richard Hilton.
